The Creators of the Green ABC's
Three years ago an innovative idea for teaching kids about green living began to take place in the mind of April Brewster Smythe. A long time freelance writer, she was excited about bringing green living terms to kids - of all ages!.
In early 2008, the Green ABC's were born as a self published workbook. In the fall of 2009, the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center began to take notice of the concept and in early 2010 the Green ABC's received an Entrepreneurial Award by the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, in order to bring the concept of the Green ABC's to fruition.
The Green ABC's partnered with Fort Wayne Community School's Anthis Career Center and was rewarded with the graphics that illuminate this alphabetical journey through Green Living
Then on June 14, 2010, the Green ABC's became a recipient of a 2010 Green Innovators Award by the Northeast Indiana Green Builders Coalition.
Who are the creators of the Green ABC's? Well, it started out in the mind of someone who wanted kids to have fun while learning about green living. But, it has become the creation of all who have come in contact with these special terms and concepts.
